As the name suggests Cabernet Franc hailing from the Belfield farm in the Elgin Valley, South Africa.
The grapes are grown in iron rich soils and cool conditions (by South African standards!) ensure small berries and good aromatic concentration.
Best drunk just under room temperature. Light yet punchy with lots of spice. No nonsense, just as Franc would have wanted it.
40% whole bunch pressed, naturally fermented, on skins for 3 weeks. Aged in large old oak barrels and bottled in December 2019.
Nomad wines is a nogiciant project by Kosie Van Der Merwe (Maker of the chaos white) and Pieter Kruger.
